hery guys, not a serious problem, but is there any reason why vista is telling me my maximum resolution is 1280 x 1024? This is for my desktop, I got a 8800gts and a 21" screen, so surely it shouldn't be a problem running at higher res? Similarly, i'm finding my games aren't giving me any higher resolutions to play with. Maybe the games are capped at similar resolutions but I was sure that I could go higher when i was on XP.

Tell Windows, to show hidden resolutions.
I would like to tell you where exactly to do this, but I don't have Vista yet...
in WinXP, you go to the display properties, then go to the "Settings" tag > "Advanced">"Monitor" tab, then uncheck the box "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display"

how is the monitor detected by windows? it may just be showing up as a plug & play monitor. Have you looked for any drivers for it?
