Hi first time here so bear with my limited technical knowledge.

I recently purchase a Samsung SyncMaster PX2370 to replace my now defunct monitor. It is a wide screen monitor and the onscreen menu for the monitor has repeatedly popped up saying the native resolution is 1920x1080 @ 60hz, however i first checked for that resolution on the setting it was not available.

So i installed what i assume to be the drivers from the disk and was now able to set the resolution to 1920x1080 but now the desktop is larger than what the screen appears able to display forcing me to scroll to be able to get to each side. When i checked in the nVidia control panel it has (native) next to 1280x1024 which can't be right.

I tried uninstalling/reinstalling all nvidia drivers i don't have a spare computer to troubleshoot so any help would be appreciated so i don't have to return this beautiful monitor.

Also almost forgot, nvidia GeForce GTX 260, windows xp with all the latest updates.
