So 6pin + 8pin, i thought the new GPU's would be more power / energy / temp efficient?

I know but im ITCHING to read anything about fermi. It has grown into the second coming of sorts.

Disclaimer: I have a 4870 i bought at launch, and I wont be changing it till next year, probably with another ati card. so no fermi for me. But hey the technology is interesting. =D

Sure .. Why didn't they just use a standard General Electrics turbofan for the fan instead of something from Delta? Would make the same noise -.-

I imagine they'll be gone pretty quickly.

Love that aluminium plate, that looks great.

According to that, the fan is driven by an induction motor. LOL.

edit: oh, no. They were wrong.

And that is a lot of thermal paste...

While the heatsink is very pretty i cant help thinking a simpler solution would have been cheaper to integrate and could have been designed to work just aswell?

If the 40nm process wasn't such a worthless pile of &^%@ this might have been a good chip. In the end, I think the rumord 576mm sq die size (and associated yeild issues/power consumption) is going to relegate this to just below prescott on the list of worst chips of all time.

doubt it titan.. they have a fan that pulls 20w by itself and a heatpipe system that rivals the hr-03 plus XD the thing is going to run hot as hell

I mean it's nice they have a beefy reference cooler but they aren't doing it so you can oc.. it's because the card is a mess

The best thing about this is... Wait, wouldn't you burn yourself on the exposed heatsink cover?

Depends how hot it runs - if it runs at like 80'C then yeah, you could! :p
