To me that's a big accomplishment for Sony considering the Wii and the 360 are out and they're selling as good as they are vs. the 360 had NO competition until this last November.
Patience is a virtue and it'll pay off for anyone willing to wait until Xmas and is just about ready to buy one.

i think with some of the deals at the moment it isnt actually that overpriced.
ps3 with 3 games and a controller at virgin can be had for £360ish with a student/virgin credit card at the mo.
hmv are doing the same kind of deal with two games and two blurays. (and student card )

obviously not everyone has a student card. But most of us can find someone who has.

im actually pretty tempted by it because of the bluray factor.

It's crazy expensive in Europe now, but it's also too expensive for a lot of people in the States as well. That is unless you want to have a blu-ray player, then it's a decent deal.

Considering the Sega Saturn was the most expensive games console I ever bought which was around £310 Second Hand as it was £400 at launch. I dont mind paying £424 for the PS3 with 2 games, 2 pads and 2 Blue Ray Films.

My PS2 came in at second place for £299 New then my 360 for £280 New

    Price is the key!!!

I have had nothing but bad luck after three failures in 6 months, and have totally given up on microsoft's 360, I traded it off and got a Wii (Mario Galaxy and Zelda Nuff said). I am in the hope that the PS3 will get some must have titles out (Little Big Planet, Gran Turismo5!!!) there this christmas time and that the console will drop by around £100, also to add to that I do not want the crappy controller that is bundled x2, as there will be a more refined one around the corner (It is far to light and has no rumble and lets face it if they are thinking of tweaking the motion sensor, it's not all that, and the L2 + R2, need I go on).

When have Sony ever listened to what the consumer actually wants???

    What he meant to say:

When have Sony ever listened to what I want??? (im sorry im sorry but I had to do it, but I understand where you're coming from)

Honestly, in my mind, Sony has done a great job on the PS3. Of course, it's not perfect for everyone and yes it does have it's flaws, but tbh the motion sensor is pretty kickass and it, in my experience, has actually made up for (ex. Super Rub a Dub, MotorStorm, etc.) the lack in rumble (which will be appearing soon hopefully), so I wouldn't go as far as to call it crap because it's really lightweight which should actually be a plus, but the price does need to drop in the UK/EU, and they are trying to (I would think) drop the price to a realistic margin. Luckily over here in the US it's affordable/realistically priced; hopefully they can do the same over there by Xmas.
