    I can honestly say I don't know a single person that actually plays second life. What actually is the big deal with it all? As far as I can tell you have to buy the in game items with real money. Where is the fun in that?

    I had thought about giving second life a look until they had all the account details stolen.
    Have they improved security now, should it be safe to enter the fray?

    Apparently (atleast from what I can tell) they upped security and invalidated all account passwords so people had to reset them .
    Just taking a look at the whole thing now and there is a "basic" account which is actually free of monthly charges though apparently you cannot own land however thats just damed expensive anyway.

    Second Life is it's own hype machine, but as a game it's a non starter.

    Second Life... looks like the kind of game that consumes your REAL life if you let it.
