This possible? I have one of those blowers that fits next to your video card (and blows at thew back of a blanking plate), and I would like to reverse it so that it pulls air back into the case from round the back, onto the video card.

Not sure how to do it tbh, or whether it would work very well, but it is something I would experiment with if I can.

    :)

well it would be a pain in the *$$ to do but it is possible but i think you might have to re connect the coils in it in a different order not so good im gonna have a go at reversing it tho

did you think about taking the unit apart and flipping the fan around? i know it seems kind of simple... but if its possible... its your best bet

Problem is, this isnt like a normal fan, so its a bit trickier to just turn it round. To do this I would have to separate the fan from the ducting it is built into, then mount it on the other piece of ducting to effectively turn it round......not too easy....but he who dares wins...or I will break the damned thing :D

If you mean the type of fan that looks like a hampster's running wheel ( as opposed to the propeller type ) then you are out of luck. Changing the direction of rotation won't make any difference ( actually it'll make less efficient) as they work on the centrifugal principle, the impellar "throws" the air into the outer casing/duct which the exits through the exhaust opening.

Wouldnt a normal fan also be useless if you changed the direction in which the blades turn? They wouldnt be catching the air anymore from what I understand...

turning the fan itself around would change airflow direction, getting blades to spin backwards might work might not.... would depend on the housing it was in... in open air... it yields nothing... in an enclosure, it could effectively reverse air direction

when putting this back together after fiddling with it (couldnt get it to spin backwards) i managed to break most of the fins off the fan so i glu gunned anther fan on top of it to pull air in instead it works quite well gf3 is running at 50 instead of 66 but takes up 3 slots its a bit massive ho hum
