I think flagging motivation can be avoided tho, by spending not too long sitting at the desk but by taking a break to stroll around every 20 minutes, but making sure not to get distracted by time consuming breaks involving watching tv, etc.
Sitting 2 hours in front of a desk at a time is not a good way to revise and we wern't designed to work like that. Thats something I realised after many years spent staring at the wall and making ridiculously impossible revision time tables! Good to have mini goals to acheive for the study time, so you feel good and have acheived something.

Mind you, thats what worked for me, but possibly my ideas are old hat these days?!)

Ive been doing quite abit for my GCSE's, doing 4 hours a day atm. Of course there are 5minute distractions now and then, for example right now....Ill get back to it in 5 minutes :)

Finished my last exam yesterday. (A-) Here's an idea for you: Just procrastinate till you only have very little time left. When you start to feel sickly because you are so nervous you know you should be starting. Then the pressure is so high you won't procrastinate anymore.

Bit-tech is awfull. "Lemme just check if there are any news..."

Doesnt work, Im not one for even remotly feeling the pressure, spent the entire evening the night before playing Half Life. Probably wont do me much good in the long run mind. Had a beer in the campus bar with some friends before the exam as well. It was pretty empty, the guy on the bar was rather confused.

i save all my nerves for 5minutes before the exam, during which i lament my lack of revision, pray, come up with random jibberish, say things like "holy exploding moonfruit leonard", stride around a lot. Then i go into the exam feeling ok.

..... what? don't look at me like that!
