i'm looking at LEDs on ebay, all the RGB leds say 'slow-flashing' or 'fast flashing'. with, say, these leds, are they the sort you can hook up a circuit to set the color of them (like this), or do they just flash between red-green-blue and you have no control over them other than on/off?
"they just flash between red-green-blue and you have no control over them other than on/off? " got it in one /
I don't know a cheap place really, but found these online (don't know how they fit in the price range: http://www.superbrightleds.com/TriColor LED.htm I've heard besthongkong as a recommended site as well - $1.50 ea http://www.besthongkong.com/advance...Csid=8887bce725fd066ea7eaff0f5011322b&x=0&y=0
yeah, i saw those. thanks. looks like the chinese ebay shops do have them too for cheap(ish), $40/100, not sure why i couldn't see them before.
if you need 100, then buy 200. chances are about 10% will either not work out of the bag or will burn up pretty quickly.
I don't know if you can use Farnell in America, but these look pretty good: 0.5W tri-colour LEDs! http://uk.farnell.com/avago-technol...dp/1554799?crosssellid=1554799&crosssell=true
Farnell in America (and Canadia) is Newark, though they don't all carry the same stock. Your example isn't stocked in Canadia, but they'll get you 1000 if you're desperate.
