    im makin rheostat turn nobs for my fans on my puter..... a few questions....

    1. has anyone ever tried to put a rheostat on a CPU fan? my CPU fan is just wayyyyyyy too noisy!
    2. for a CPU fan rheostat, what volt wire would i use? i know its 12v for reg fans, but what would it be for CPU fans?

    i think its foolish to control your cpu fan, because if you accidentally turn it down you will fry your cpu.

    thats a vantec 6035 with a 80mm to 60mm fan adapter and an 80mm sunon 39cfm 32dba fan. the fan that came with it was one of those 60mm 37cfm 42dba delta's so i have a little more cfm at a lot less noise.

    I put one on my Delta ear-bleeder, and it works great. Used a 25 OHM one, and when it's all the way down, it runs at about 4325rpm, and of course a little over 7000rpm when it's cranked up.

    im not gonna end up doin it.... could be dangerous to my CPU..... i was just thinkin....
