why don't all the students pool their money that would go towards the RIAA and just hire a hitman? then everybody wins! seriously though, i hope none of these RIAA people ever need help, because i doubt most people would piss on them if they were on fire
All the students need to do is ask the RIAA to see the evidence that they have - past experience shows that they either don't have the evidence, or it's not conclusive.
Why is it $750 per song? Why not just the cost per song say $2? If you broke a window, you wouldnt be forced to pay extorsionate(sp) amounts for its replacement would you? Idk seems ****ed up to me.
Scenario 1: Pay money so your home doesn't burn up. Scenario 2: Pay money so you don't get sued for more. Someone should sue RIAA for extortion.
Or press criminal charges for racketeering. Which this blatantly is. But Ramble's got the right idea.
Absolutely pathetic. The RIAA knows that many college students can not afford a lawyer, and can definitely not afford a lawyer who would have a chance up against the RIAA. The smartest thing to do as a college student would be to claim that you are asset-less, essentially the same as filing bankruptcy. How can the RIAA prove that every student download illegal music? Whats next, if you have a fast internet connection the RIAA will sue 'cause the only thing a fast internet connection is good for is downloading illegal music? L J
Law students to defend them perhaps? Not sure on the legality of that though. Let's not forget downloading movies and TV shows. But shhhhh. Don't tell the MPAA that.
It's a scare tactic by the RIAA (whilst for its lawyers it's a nice little income generator). But the students don't have to respond. Sounds impressive, no? But let's focus on the line just before this paragraph: Just because someone invites you to play their game, doesn't mean that you have to join in.
