I have just rejuvenated my laptop's (HP 8570W) CPU and GPU thermal paste and managed to bork 4 of the ribbon cable locks. One for the backlight on the keyboard ribbon and all 3 for the trackpad. In my defence, they are very prone to breaking, and are ridiculously flimsy and fragile. Does anyone know where they can be bought? Alternatively, does anyone know how to secure the ribbons in place without them even being there?
Its highly ulikely you'll be able to get just the locks, they come as an assembly. Do you have any photos? It'll help us guide you on bodging it more effectively!
