Hello folks, I know there was a thread about the righthand ad banners misalignment before, but it seems to have disapeared... But, altough that problem still exists, that isn't my "problem". I don't mind the ad's, I even click them sometimes, but the size difference (with the Visual Studio banner) is starting to bug me now, even more then the misalignment... I know that Bit isn't the supplier of the ads, but isn't there an agreement on the size? It bugs me so hard I actually refresh the page when I get 1 MS banner and 1 "other". here's what I mean The lesser evil (aka the misalignment) Did Bit-tech partner up with MS? J/K What I do want to point out, no misalignment here... Altough I find the banner to big now (at my 1024x768 resolution) //All fear my Gentoo - Fluxbox desktop
Agreed. I've seen them popping up everywhere though, not just Bit. And them being oversized is indeed VERY irritating.
Mouse over the MS one when it is playing: talk about CPU killer! As for sizes, I couldnt care less since they aren't infringing on the forums.
Mousing over the MS one, and then moving your mouse away from it makes the cursor disappear for me, and it doesn't reappear until I move my mouse out of the window and back in again. =/ Edit: This only happens on the one which changes the cursor on mouseover to a coloured thing (the Visual studio icon I think) Edit 2: It also makes my cursor disappear for a few seconds when the page first loads, too.
Just wondering: is your gripe with the fact that we are now featuring 160x600 banners on bit-tech or the fact that sometimes you get a combination of 120x600 and 160x600 at the same time? For those not in the know, yes, there are standards for banner sizes. 120x600 and 160x600 are both official IAB banner dimensions.
Whilst we will have to continue to serve a mix of both the industry is moving towards 160x600 as the standard format - so before long everything will be 160x120
I think it's fair to say that many advertisers will migrate to 160x600 over time. I can name many sites which run them as standard
