    That 1.4 is still good, It has the manufactures waranty. Call them and they'll ask you for the Digits on the back of the CPU. Ask you a few questions on what happened and give you a work number to send the crap back.

    I feel so sad when i hear of people busting their cpu's... i wish i could break mine.. But my 500 k6/2 just keeps on goin all the way up to 650 mhz... [​IMG]

    Thats the AMD maximum recommended temperature for a Tbird. Actually I think its 93, so you're safe!

    Jeeze, one guy on another forum *said* he idled at 56ºc and his core actually melted :eeek:

    Hope I don't fry my t-bird like you did. Must... watch... temps...

    The f***ing heatsink actually FELL OFF my prescios Duron once!

    It actually survived...lol...i heard a "clunk" and the whole thing shutdown on me.

    Shorted out my network card though :(

    Yeah I guess the mobo just shutdown when it get a short
