    R.I.P.

What a shame, although a great legacy to leave behind!

RIP First Lady of Star Trek.

So glad she finished her voice-over work on the new Star Trek movie before she passed... it'll be weird to hear another person doing the computer's voice in any future movies. She was synonymous with the part.

I run screaming from any hint of religion, but I can only hope that if there were any pearly gates, someone'd be good enough to say:

    "Enter when ready." :thumb:

Sad sad news indeed... her voice is a fairly integral part of the "feel" of Star Trek. They probably have enough recordings of her to synthesize (replicate... ) her voice and get the computer to say anything. But it won't be the same.

I'm slightly concerned that it is going to end up sounding like the really stunted announcements that you get at railway stations.

I loved her as the mother of Troi. Didn't know she also did all the computervoice work.

I think you mean Zachary Quinto? Gabriel Grey is the character he plays in Heroes, better known as Sylar :)

But back on topic, Majel's passing is dreadfully sad. She brought some wonderful characters to life in Trek and will be sorely missed.

I imagine they'll find someone who can do a really good impression, good enough for a human ear at least.

I tip my beer to her. Tis rare that a SciFi man finds a great woman that will stay with him. Even rarer, a woman that will continue his legacy after his death until she too succombs to the darkness.

She did NOT look her age, even on DS9.

And dang! I totally forgot about Earth: Final conflict! Havnt thought about that show in ages....

    RIP Majel Roddenberry

I wonder if she will be launched into outer space like Gene was... hmm...

OK, with its last guardian gone, from here on in anything Star Trek will suck epically. :sigh:

76 is too young. Still, at least she leaves a legacy that will inspire future generations to become scientists and engineers. Let's make the future.
