Been talking about this with a few folks today. We used to listen to "I'd Lie For You" almost every day on the school bus back in 1995, when the song reached number 2 in the UK charts. Awesome, happy memories - thanks to this man.

Saw him live at Knebworth in 86, came on stage with a broken leg and wasn't received very well with the hard core heavy metal fans who threw 2 litre bottles full of piss at him.

    A bit sad really,.

Seems like it was 1985, lol would you let your 15 year old go to a 24hr festival full of booze and drugs (and hypothermia for me) nowadays lol.

Lot of great artists lost in the last couple of years or so, but this one... this one hurts... His music had a huge influence on me, and I always really enjoyed his acting roles.

I listened to Bat Out Of Hell and Bat Out Of Hell II earlier today and... damn.

Go ahead Cornelius, you can cry...

I've never really been one to listen to his stuff myself, but back we were 16 my mate had a licence through DLA, an MG ZS, and a Meatloaf obsession. Life is a lemon and I want my money back is a banger

We saw his farewell tour (the first of several :p) live. The audience was full of captains of industry who had grown up with his music, and middle-aged couples in full leather alike. People brought their kids. It was such an awesome experience.
