I once met Rik at my first job, he came in shopping while on holiday in Dartmouth; my sister ( also worked there, nepotism Cheesecake ) came and told me so I grabbed a clipboard and a clean sheet of paper and went to find him. He had a Bottom T-shirt on with a picture of him and Ade on the front, so friendly and happily signed me an autograph and shook my hand, such a nice bloke. I was trembling afterwards, that giddy feeling you get when you meet your hero/idol. This sucks.
That's a shock didn't think he would die... well not so early. Another sign you're getting old everyone you remember growing up is dying !!
Crapper, awesome comedian, good article on him here. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-27770266
WTF?!!! No! I loved that guy... The hours I spent watching Bottom on TV or the live shows on VHS as a teen..aah fond memorys. RIP
Very sad news one of the best out there, grew up watching him he will defently be missed by many ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yep, sad news indeed. I really enjoyed his work, from the Kevin Turvey sketches on a programme I can't remember what its called, the Young Ones, Blackadder, The Dangerous Brothers, Filthy, Rich and Catflap, the list goes on. RIP Rik, you will be missed.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEHFhFfcRKA Of course I could have picked any Dangerous Brothers sketch. World of Danger.... exploding politicians... crocodile snogging... all such classics.
