I just got Hyptonize, by SOAD, and my computer doesnt recognize it when i put it in. My computer recognizes other CDs I put in. Is ther any way to get around this? because the whole reason I buy cds is to listen to them on my ipod....
I've ripped both hypnotize and mezmerize using windows media player, so i don't think it's a copy protection thing, have you tried ripping a cd you know can be ripped since this happened? maybe somthings gone FUBAR. Edit: 700th post, how rare! (would be in the audio visula forum )
I had no problem with mesmerize, but not hyptnotize... It is some kind of double sided special edition, so maybe thats the problem... I tried ripping it on another computer, but the same thing happens. The drive spins up, but Windows still recognizes it as an empty drive. The DVD side works fine. Ive also tested each cd drive and both work.
Thats wierd? I think its that double sided crap they did to the cd. I remember my friend pleading for help with this problem to me lol. What type of files are they, do you know? I would think they would be regular cd files but you never know, I will research this a bit and get back to you on it. BTW: (Does it work in a cd player?) Well i researched this and found this on some soad lovers xanga site. Quote") its a dualdisk, so it has audio and a dvd. BUT because of this format.. the audio side doesnt meet the specifications on some dvd and cd players.. so in other words... IT DOESNT PLAY OR DOESNT PLAY GOOD!! so i just got ripped of my money. now i have to buy the normal audio cd for hypnotize...*cries* (Quote" Hope thta helps at all, Return it if possible and get the regular version. Unless you really like the dual disk.
Can't you just download it, Cant see you getting sued since you own it, and they RIAA aint gonna bust down your door for 1 CD that you actually OWN.
Yeh I bought the Hypnotize dual disc too, there were both normal cd's and dual discs for the same price so I thought great I'll have that. The DVD played fine but the cd side did not play in the DVD player or any of my cd players so I ended up exchanging it for a normal CD - much better, keep it simple.
