I am removing a lot of the rivets out of my Chieftec matrix case so I can mod it. I was wondering how would go about putting the case back together? Should I use rivets? If so then what rivets should I use? Or should I use screws? If so then what screws/bolts/nuts would be the best to use? Thanks guys and girls.

well, it depends on wiether you want to take it apart again or not. If youll be needing toremove chassis components often, use some small nuts and bolts, because screws wont work very well, being as the holes arent threaded. i suggest you rerivet it though, because it looks cleaner and is stronger, if you dont plan on taking it apart often. hope i helped.

well, I am not planning on taking it apart everyday maybe every couple of months if that. Like twice a year. So I might do rivets. Do you know what size I need and where is the best place to buy them?

Just becarefull of which size you use. You want the same diamiter 1/8th and length....I have rarely seen one in a case longer than a 3/8. And watch for flush rivets, they are that way for a reason most of the time.

We do have colored riviets at our site......www.dragonmodz.net.

With flush rivets, do you use the same rivets you use for the other holes, or are they specaial ones I have to buy also?

EDIT: Also, what Hand Riveter do you guys recommend?

i suggest one of the nutcracker (not the soldier kind, the hand kind) because they are hand operated and work quite well.

Flush rivets are the rivet equvalent of countersunk screws.

And unless you are going to put in pop-rivets for a living, any rivet gun will do, all the actual "work" is managed by the rivet itself, the gun is just a tip with a hole and something to pull the pin hard enough.

So I just use regular rivets in the countersunk holes?

Edit: Nevermind, I found that there are countersunk rivets also haha.

Now I am going shopping :-D.
