I have a quandry. Gotta paint me case. All sides are removable......except the top. It is (and i think this is the right word) "rivoted on" which means that instead of screws holding it in place it has like unscrewable screws, which means i can't take it off with the normal screw driver. I really don't want to paint this top piece while its on my case. Is there any way to take out a rivot? or should i just paint it while its on my case? i feel really stupid for asking this but i want a professional opinion because i am a moron. Thanks, Chuckles
get a drill, and drill the rivets out. then get some screws and put those in instead. or get some pop rivets if you really want the rivets back.
You can get the rivots off with a drill or a file. Either way you just gotta get rid of the "head" on the outside that you can see, and then just push it thru. You'll need a pop-rivot gun to put it back on when you are done tho. Screws might work, if you can find some with really flat heads. Make sure everything is out of your case before you start drilling or filing. You dont want any metal shavings getting in the wrong place.
Gotta agree with these guys. Sometimes it's kinda tough to get them - my car had a similar way of mounting the speakers, and those guys were little whores to get out. I'd recommend a corded drill, if you've got one or a way to get your hands on one. Gordon
To get the top panel off my LianLi when I was putting in my blowhole I just used a drill bit on the trusty Dremel Worked like a charm
