Hey, I really like those monitors you got there mate, where can I get one?

 

From Dell. Those are 2405FPWs - 24" widescreen. I use one myself; highly recommended. Apparently the 2407WFPs replacing them aren't as good... 6-bit panel for one, rather than 8-bit eBay might be your best bet.

To the right of the CRT is my hifi system, from bottom up:
Amp (kenwood stereo amplifier basic M1A) Turbo oldskewl beast. Love it.
pre-amp (kenwood stereo control amplifier model basic C1) again, love it.
cd player (ariston acoustics CDX-720) - Peice of junk, don't recommend.

My case is the antec super lanboy. It's my low budget gaming system.
AMD athlon 64 2800+ (not great, but does the job)
X800 SE (works really well )
340gigs of total hdd space (of which there is very little left)
Enermax powersupply (enermax ***)
The system cost ~£600

The latest addition to my room is the 29" white oscillating tower fan model jt-tf. £34.99 from some stationary shop in oxford I forget the name (near the entrance to the covered market). Works quite well, but quite ugly.

My secondary screen is a dell flatscreen 1024x768 that cost £0.00. You can probably see why in the photo, there is a dark splotch right ontop of realplayer which is where the screen is damaged. I'm using realplayer to listen to annie nightingale's show which can be found here. It's kickass.

You can probably see my monitor is a time crt. Old school junk is the best! Also my keyboard (modded with stripey tape!) is a "Trust windows 98 power keyboard" lol.

My speakers are mission 701 speakers with calculator for size comparison. I love them, they are so awesome, but I don't think you can buy them anymore and I think mission has changed hands

 

Autdirect are good as well (If you live in the UK), proper cheap. I got my 2005FPW from them.

 

Holy smoke, 2 24" Dells, that is a lot of screen estate...wish i had that kind of $$$$...

I broke my MS Natural Elite with beer

I prefer the 4000 actually, because the arrow keys and Insert/Home/PageUp/etc keys are in the correct position.

Plus the Black and Silver is rather nice

 

Are they 2407s? Look like it from the stands...what do you think of them? And is the mini driving them both?

Nah the mini isn't driving both, just one when I want it to. The poor graphics chip on it can barely cope with OS X's heavy UI at 1920x1200 though...

They're fine screens, nice and bright, excellent contrast, so sharp too - although my last setup was fairly decent too so nothing i'm not already too used to If you've read about that whole banding issue then it's nothing to worry about, just a bunch of perfectionists finding an excuse to have a moan imo

 

For the benefit of those with crap monitors/no curtains:

I don't have a pair of 24" Dells, but I still have a 1920x1200 monitor

Antec SLK3000B case, Viewsonic VX912, IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0, 7yr old Dell keyboard, Creative Inspire 6700 speakers, Dell 8600 laptop. The two little LCDs are attached by USB.
