Thats right! a USB Rubiks Memory Cube! The pen drive I had fit perfectally inside the cube, and although it will never actually be rotatable ever again, it is sooo much cooler.I'm not sure what else I'm going to put on it. Perhaps lights, I dunno. Yes I solved it. My best time is 2 min 10 seconds

Pretty cool, but kinda defeats the purpose of having a little usb drive to carry around :hehe:

It would be cool if someone built a rubiks cube that had semi-transparent, colored cubes with lights in it

Looks nice, but the drive's not really portable anymore is it? [Unless you never take it anywhere of course :)]

[EDIT: sorry, TM got there first!]

    nice job
but 1 thing still bothers me
how do you connect the drive to your pc?
    with an extension cord?

and i have an  for modding it
the colors are green, blue, red and yellow right?
whell those colours all are available in leds
a blue side, a red side etc
    do the math

i think that would look really cool
but its all up to you
keep moddin stuff ya hear ;)

ya the pen drive came w/ a cord so i use that. The colors are red yellow white green blue orange red so I suppose I could wire one up to each side but where would I get the power from? only 5v in a usb cable right?

no, its too cramped in there to do that. The bottom of the drive is sitting on the bottom layer of plastic on the very bottom cube. Its a really tight fit and I had to sand a whole bunch of plastic.

Awesome TechZimmy! I love the look of the Rubiks Cube. :thumb:

I moved the thread to modding as it doesn't really qualify for project logs (no work in progress pics, it's a finished mod, etc). :)

Nice work. How does it go when your USB ports are low down near the surface of a desk (e.g. LianLi front USB ports), is there enough room to insert it?

READ THE THREAD, they already established the fact that he uses and extension cable.
