News Rumour: GT5 has track editor

Rumours are flying that Gran Turismo 5 will feature a track editor when it is eventually released.

 

Doesn't the fact that they don't want to comment on it just prove that there is probably going to be an editor.

Its just like in law, when someone gets asked, did they do something, and they say no comment, obviously they did do said thing then, otherwise they'd have just said no.

 

Shame its not on the PC, they would benefit from a bigger fan base than with just the PS3 (cough crap).

Is GT5 actually ever coming out? I'm beginning to believe it's vaporware...

 

A year ago I might of thought that was cool but after LBP, playing through a ton of user generated pap is not my idea of fun.

though once MM release a Best of Users content I'll no doubt pick it up as LBP is awesome and I want more

The other problem is that the cool stuff that often gets made will often be deleted due to copyright or something for example you know some one will put the effort in to get the UK tracks in like cadwell, castle coombe etc assuming the tools are that good and Sony will just delete them.

 

might get that ps3 now =D MGS4, GT5, little big plannet, killzone 2, ratchet and clank. Enough exclusives to keep me happy for a few years =)

just a pity forza 3 looks so tasty too. Good times for racing fans.

 

So does this mean there'll be versions (eventually) of real racetracks that weren't included? i.e. Spa, Manky Curves, Hockenheim etc?

 

Erm, are you not aware of PD's reputation when it comes to release dates? They're even worse than Valve. Besides, GT5 has been out for nearly 2 years now.

I was convinced the PSP version of GT was vapourware, but look how that turned out. Of course, by then it was far too late and I had long since sold my PSP.

Why would it? It's always been for PS. It's a first party game. Sony would never allow that.


Want to do Top Gear track on PC? I think someone made it for rFactor or GTR.

 

rFactor, but i don't have the game, don't have a good wheel nor do i have the patience to play a real simulator.

Wish Gran Turismo would stop referring to itself as a sim. Its arcade+.

I've played the Topgear track on GTR2, you can only really have one car on it though, the AI can't handle it and even if it could, its a figure 8 track so the cars would just crash into each other.

GT is pretty good as a sim if you set it up to be one, its not perfect, nothing is.

 

console wise, this is the closest thing to a sim you will ever get

i tried gt4 with my g25 and it was surprinsingly good. It was still the same easy gameplay of gran turismo but it didn't feel too much arcade like a need for speed , grid or dirt would
