The first laptops powered by a Fermi chip - a battery life measured in nanoseconds and capable of sterilising a man in under 30 seconds.
This just in. Nvidias CEO just discovered his new Fermi powered laptop has been causing the energy crisis and causing what the experts describe as "re-branding cancer". Details at 11
I saw this article and rushed in to make some witticisms in the comments but really, Krikkit and dec have summed it up already.
This news begs the question of just how similar these mobile GPUs are to the desktop Fermi cards, since they're 'derived' from them. With such poor efficiency and horrible thermals, how could any derivative of Fermi be suitable for laptops without being completely neutered?
well you could always buy a led based cooling pad for the laptop and take with you a full radioactive suit and a small nuclear generator so you could power it for a few hours and still be safe .....
i really need to lay off the sauce
The jokes are funny because its true. ATi's 5 series would make ideal laptop chips though.
They do know that laptops have crap cooling already... right?o.0
Wonder if Nvidia supply's a combined nuclear reator/phase cooler for keeping the laptop running?
In the words of Kings of Leon
"HEEEEYEEEEYEEEEY! Your laptop's on fire!"
+rep for that
If it's on your lap, your sex really would be on fire.
Maybe they're rebadged 8800M's? (again)
Fermi tagline : Toasting your chances of having children.
Fermi Mobile: When having a product line is more important than being able to sell a single unit.
so true so true lol.
From the bright side - you can grill that burger while playing crysis. I'm sure it's a fantasy of every crysis person
Because of this risk the EU consumer watchdog warned nvidia not to use the word 'lap'
That... and the enormous amounts of cash anonymously deposited into all manufacturers accounts :O
i wouldnt bet on the date. They will probably just be waving a fake laptop come july.
Waving it on display, or waving it to put out the flames?
Separate names with a comma.
