I have thought about a remote control switch that turns on the car A/C so it will be nice and cool when you get in, but that might drain the battery. So now, would it be possible to install a power supply to power the A/C so the battery doesn't get drained? I have some old computer PSUs that I can mod, and I can use a relay to automatically alternate between 12v and 120v operation (connect the coil of the relay across the power supply output so if there's 120v coming in, it switches the A/C to the power supply).
The A/C compressor would normally run from the car's altenator belt and so requires the engine running to work.
yup thnak you and i can't beleave you want to do it what a wast you problem have the A/C on with the windows open to SORRY
if he had two ac circuits, one on an electric compressor...? (not gonna happen, but I have to give a what-if)
yes....... well he could a lot of work would need to be done. ok so where were you thinking of using it at home well you could make it so you have 2 pipe going to the car ..... and so on and stuff but .....hummmmm thinking about it there must be cars out there that can do it so like you have a remote control so as you wake to the car you can turn it on hummm
The easiest method would be to convert the drive for the compressor to electric. Alternatively fit a remote start alarm system and start the car remotely with AC on.
