Any other bit-techers out there dabble is Rune Casting or have a set of runes? Im just getting into it after a few months of contemplation. I was gifted The Book of Runes which came with a basic set of runes plus a bag for them.

Im about half way through the book, and enjoying it so far. I feel like this is something i can get into alot more even though ive never been a spiritual person. Ive even been looking online to find a new set of runes, something thats more me, but ive had no luck finding something thats pleasing. If anyone knows someone or a site that deals in custom runes of various materials please pass the info on to me! Of course it gives you the option to make your own runes, but i would perfer something carved from bone.

Even though the book has some more typical ways of casting runes i deffinitly plan to experiment in other ways and find something im comfortable with. That seems to be something pleasing about it that there is no real set way to do it.

So far ive only done one casting for myself, just the Odins Rune. I drew Dagaz in reference to my work, which was very uplifting and ive been doing better at my job since the casting.

So any other Rune Casters out there? What kind of experiences have you had? Or for the curious, do you have any questions about Rune Casting?

If nothing else, you can always call it the placebo effect. If he's happy with it and he feels it will help him, then it IS helping him.

That said, while I don't cast them I have made sets of runes before. Mostly in wood, one in metal. Might could do bone now pretty easily. That or antler, depending on how big, but that's my experience. None past that and knowing the Elder Futhark kinda.

From what ive read, rune casting isnt a way of seeing the future or or conjuring spirits, its about learning about yourself, reflection and guidance.

It comes down to belief and a open mind. Yes i understand this is a tech forum, so everyone here is probably Athiest or Agnostic so that probably wont help the discussion.

If you ask me i think religion is garbage. Worst thing ever created. But i have a open mind when it comes to norse beliefs and i figured id give it a shot. And from only 1 attempt it by pure chance directly applied and aided the situation.

Know a couple of people who make them out of wood primarily, though the can possibly make them out of horn too... the issue would be the legalities and/or costs of shipping them to Canada...

I'll ask around... they may know someone in Canada that does them...
