i currently run dual monitor on my x1900xt, but i got a x1950pro the other day and was thinking of either running 3 monitors or just 2 but use a card for each. but i wanted to know if there is any benefit to doing so.
the main thing i hate is when running a game full screen on one monitor if i then click say on msn it takes both displays back to the desktop. though thats more a windows thing rather than graphics cards?
    help :D

Indeed it is a windows/games thing, some games support switching of displays better than others, unfortunately there is very little you can do to improve this your self other than runnign your games in windowed mode so the switching is a bit more seemless.

Running windows/MSN etc on the 2nd monitor while your gaming on the first (using a single gfx card) then you really wont notice much if any at all of a drop in performance.

Personaly, if your going to run just 2 monitors, then connect them both up to the single card and remove the 2nd, no point in wasting power.
If however you have a 3rd screen kicking around, then embrace the tri head goodness :)

I agree. Depending on which game I play I usually use my 30" as my main gaming screen and my 2 side screens for internet browsing, apps, etc.
