I'm trying to find a way of running my gamecube through my monitor as my 17" TFT pwns our 21" TV. I hooked up the gamecubes output to the vivo leads 'In' header but the VIVO utility (Winfast capture software) says it cannot detect any channels :eyebrow:

Am I using the wrong software or is there a fault in my rather simplistic experiment?

My graphics card is a A250 LE TDH VIVO (Ti4200 64mb 4xAGP Vivo)manufactured by Leadtek :hip:

Okay, got an extremely poor b&w image now after installing new WDM drivers. Can anyone suggest a solution or a decent piece of free/shareware software?

It's not free, but there are numerous devices that let you use a monitor for stuff like video game consoles or VCR's. They are getting pretty popular because even the PS2 does look better on a higher resolution monitor, and ESPECIALLY an Xbox, since it has titles that can run at 720p.

They sell for about 50-100 bucks.

I'm gonna grab one soon myself, since bloodrayne2 does not exist for PC.

If you can mod your gamecube, try adding component out to it (find the NTSC encoder and hopefully you'll find RGB going into it).
If it has component out, you only need a cable (and a switchbox if the monitor doesn't have one built in).

And not to insult you or nothing but i'd think you doing something wrong.. As i'm able to play my GBA on my 17" LCD via a USB 1.1 input thinge..

    But i could be wrong!

I've got a component out cable but its analogue not digital (will it matter that much? My monitor is analogue not DVI). I can only get a poor, grainy, B&W image when I plug the video component cable into my VIVO cable which is frustrating. I'm not sure wether its the software or a problem with my hardware setup (eg analogue not digital or some such)

I am guessing that you are using the PVR software that shipped with your card? I too have a leadtek card with VIVO, but mine is an A380 (FX 5950). When I hook up something to it I had the same problem, that is untill I realized that I was using the wrong input. By default it was set to S-Video input, all I had to do was change the input signal to composite and presto color video.

Ok actually I have a related question on this matter.

    I have 2 monitors.

Soon to have an ati hdtv wonder (hardware encoder for video that is hd capable)

Would hooking up something like an xbox INTO the ati lower performance in anyway either graphically or cpu wise while I was doing another task on the same PC? It sounds crazy, but I play mmorpg's, and often times play another game at same time.

One option of course is to hook up the xbox to one of the adaptors I mentioned, but if I can save 100 bucks or so and use the ati inputs without killing my performance in other tasks, that would be win.

    Thanks.
