    Hey all,

I was wondering if there was a way to run the Galaxy dxx 1000w PSU with out connecting ie to leak check a water cooling system.

The green to black 24 pin plug trick doesn't work ...... it just beeps at me.

Been using a old PSU and want to get rid of it.

    Thanks

Maybe the psu is detecting that nothing is drawing power. Try connecting the motherboard to it, and then do the wire trick or press the power switch. Obviously it will fail to boot but the psu should keep running anyway.

The trouble with that is it defeats the point, you don't want any live components for leak checking

    Thanks anyway

If you are only connecting the motherboard, you could probably put it on top of your case or out of the way somewhere, not installed. So you can leak test :D

the system is built when i leak check, you just remove the PSU wire in the pump and some fans to give the PSU a min loading short out and run for 12 hours.

Connecting a mobo would open a whole can of worms, would you fit the cpu ram etc and have it running as a live board, i would then have to mount it on a test stand so i wouldn't short the board out.

Thats why i am current using a old PSU as i can't get the enermax to run. I was hoping someone here would of also come across this and found the min loading.
