Hey, I was wondering if you can run just the crosfire master card and then in the future upgrade with a normal card to run crossfire or are the crossfire cards only meant to run in the crossfire configuration?

    Cheers

they run perfectly fine by them self. the only thing you have to remember is that they only have 1 video output. so you can only use 1 monitor

well it dose depend what crossfire master you mean. IIRC only the x1900 crossfire master has 1 dvi. the rest have 2

Just plug in the Crossfire link cable and use the second output via that...?

Yeah it would be the x1900.

Another quick question is there any point getting the XTX over the XT if later its going to be run at XT speeds when in crossfire? (iirc the master cards run at XT speeds and slow down the XTX card doesnt it?)

    Cheers

I'd get a standard XT and just OC it to XTX speeds.

    :)
