So I got it all connected and running, 8800gtx with hdmi cable and dvi adapter. So that works fine. But I've got the 'hide modes this display cannot support' option checked. The tv is an le5300 100hz lg tv. Do I enable it regardless? Anyone here have any experience with this sort of thing???

not worth it since you have an 8800 GTX it will certainly not be outputting more than or close to 100FPS on modern games.

Conventional flatpanel screens (including but not limited to tv sets) output the picture at 60Hz (or 24Hz for 24p playback).

Those "100Hz" (and higher) tv sets achieve this number by interpolation between frames. Something you'd usually disable anyway, if you care about image quality.

I think azrael has got the right idea. It's via interpolation. I'll leave it set to low as it is at the moment. Looked fine to me.
