If Bozo the malicious clown doesn't have to follow his own covid rules why should the wife of the chancellor not do business in Russia?

Nice division of responsibility there. Do as we say, not as we do.

Any one here ever been a member of the conservative party?

    Is there an entrance exam?

If so, is question one "are you a ****ing scumbag? (If yes, please turn in your paper and proceed directly to the gravy train)"

That's why the COVID rule breaking is extremely important - it lies at the very heart of their attitudes and behaviour that extend far beyond drinking at gatherings to indirectly funding a regime that likes to invade.

Back to the Ukraine part of this thread

The economist went to Kiev to interview President Zelensky.

They intended it for a print article but though it was worth publishing the audio as well

I think it's worth your time to listen to if you are following this.

I don't think I need to link to the latest news. It is appalling but not unexpected. Talk of war crimes investigations is well and good, but the only way to prevent more such crimes to to ensure that the Russian army is defeated.

I would hope that the west will work to get more weapons (and ammo) to help with maximum urgency.

Unfortunately it seems to be Russian doctrine to massacre civilians in areas of resistance - they did it in Chechnya and Syria, I'm sure other conflicts as well, and sadly Bucha is the latest to join that list.

Absolutely detestable actions, I'm not sure how anyone could really justify torturing and executing innocent civilians - not just dissidents but whole families including children. And these are supposedly the professional brigades of soldiers too.

Ukraine claims to have hit the Moskva with two missiles, ammo-racking it and possibly sinking it.

Russia says there was a serious incident aboard which caused the ammo to explode.

They'd rather go with incompetence than enemy action?

It's that, or admit it was taken out by a nation that doesn't even have a navy.

Besides, tomorrow's Russian media will state that the Moskva was always designed to be a submarine.

I read a comment that said "it hasn't been sunk, it's undertaking an important undersea operation"

De-nazifying the sea bed, no doubt.

Released the day before the strike no less. Now that's what you call marketing.

It's confirmed as being at the bottom of the black sea now btw:

Russia are saying there was a "fire" and "ammunition exploded", but you'd expect them to lead with the source of that not being from an attack if it wasn't. As it is it sounds like a lie of omission, so it seems reasonable to believe that a home grown Ukrainian strike has sunk the Russian navy's Black Sea flagship, the largest vessel sunk in action since the end of WW2. Remarkable.
