Over two months since my last update! but I should hopefully be able to post plenty in the next couple of weeks pretty much following the completion of this project (apart from the components of course).

All we have done today is cut the new panel for the new set of switches and paint it blue.

It will now hold a key switch, vandal resistant switch, 5 toggles and 5 leds.

    More updates tomorrow...

What brand of bondo did you use? Is it very hard once it dries?

    Thanks

The keyswitch will need to be in the ON position before you can press the power button, kinda silly but it looks pretty cool.

    The panel sprayed:

    Most of the switches installed:

All it needs now is anothe little washer behind the fifth toggle switch and the five panel mounted LEDs.

Looking great - one question (don't think it's been answered already), is that lock-switch (key) going to turn the PC on? Where did you get it?

Key switches are a standard item in any shop that sell electronic components. I've also managed to find few from old servers...

Not that much left to do really, It should be complete before christmas as I will be buying all the components just after.

    To do:
1.Drill new holes for the new switch panel
    2.Fit the 5 LEDS
    3.Hours of soldering
    4.Stealth mod new optical drive
5.Drill the new holes for the motherboard stand offs (may not be needed)

Hey, I was wondering if you could write a guide on how to do that bondo work you did around the vent and the front fans, because its amazing and I want to do some similar stuff on my next project. Alternatively, do you know of any guides on how to do that kind of stuff? Thanks for the help, keep up the good work! :thumb:

I have left plenty of cable sticking out ready for the LEDs when I eventually find reasonably priced ones.
