I like the second pic best, keep it symmetrical. The first pics placement is a little to high.

I like the third placement. Also you can easily see them both at the same time.

I also think that the second one is the best one.

SH*T now I really dont have a clue. all leave it ti later and have a think!!!

Since am still waiting for the feckin cnc machine I decided to cut the bottom and top panels out. this was very easy because my main enclosure is measured to fit in with A4 dimensions, so one cut along a pre-cut A3 sheet of acrylic and its done, twice! smoked black acrylic for top and a clear finish acrylic for the base/bottom plate.

Am using TENSOL 12 to bond the pieces together. strong if done well... Av glued samples together and waited 24 hour befor befor breaking them apart again to see how strong the bond is... Its much stronger than you may think. am gonna be bonding most major parts with this as I really want a smooth seamless finish....

Bonding together with Tensol 12. using a true 90 angle ruler to check they are sitting true, its good cause you have 30 - 45 sec to play with befor it starts to grip in place. so can tap it here and there - change the angle slightly. cool!

Set in place Strong after 24 hours. I want a seamless join so gonna file down gently to blend smooth -

Killing noise - Xbox 360 CD Drive

Man the cd drive in the 360 is loud. tooooo loud. building a smaller enclosure for the Cd Drive alone.
This will then attach inside the main enclosure.

    Same deal with glue.

Gonna take some time now to file down and smooth out the enclosure.

Forgot to say the hole point in this is to try knock out some of the insane sounds that rush out of the beast... Using sound foam stuff I stole from uni. like a hard foam similar to what recording studios use.

Fits spot on. Remember spraying all of this so it looks messy at the moment but will hopefully come together when it gets round to putting the paint on! All the acrylic used for the Cd Drive was spare bit from old stuff and from uni. so as far as sticking to a budget goes, am on track.....

You are doing some really nice plexi work. The CD drive cover looks really good. Have you considered buying a new PC drive that is HD enabled?

I thought you couldn't do that, or MS would ban your console.

    Microsoft! Ha

Yeh MS wil def cancel your account as soon as you jump on xbox live. never try to run a different Drive. Unless you know how to flash a drive! Even simply replacing a broken drive for a replacement is a pain in the ass cause every xbox Motherboard and Drive are codded to work together. This is how they know if you been messin about. Would of loved to use a laptop drive. to make the case even thinner still. dimentions sit at 17cm Wide by 36 tall
