World of Warcraft the movie was announced to those of us who worked in Blizzard two years ago. Just surprised it took so long to announce the director....

I can't help but find that my waning interest in the game will not endear a film conversion of it.

At least it ain't gonna be Uwe Boll this time.

WOW movie? Same theme as LOTR but it has no chance as being anywhere near as good.

"Gimme some sugar baby!" C'mon Campbell! Bruce is a legend.

Are we going to see "The Sword of a Thousand Truths!" and will we see a nOOb use it?

Yea because adapting books - like the majority of famous older movies did shows so much more imagination..

    Saimi + Campbell = Gold

    Best. Campbell. Quote. Ever.

I'm not sure my bum can handle watching 2 hours of grinding and griffin riding.

Strange choice of director, would be cool to see Bruce on his horse getting chased by 'Large Rat 2 Attack 1 Defence', and like Dave said, whats the plot?

Will be hard to capture the whole idea of levelling a character so will it turn out to be another expensive Dungeons and Dragons flop?

I hope it's true to the game where by you follow a lone character as he tried to find 5 man groups for instances hours on end. Grinds mobs for the same rare mats all day and tries to sell some high level enchants for hours.

    Bubba Hotep :D

Have been thinking of gettting Campbells book, "If chins could kill".

Don't know if this'll be good or not. Hopefully it'll have Mr T as what ever elf character he had in the WOW ad.

WoW is just a sum of Warcraft 1-3, and actually has a rich backgroung and story in terms of fantasy. people who had played WC3 love playing wow as it lets you relive the story from a more personal perspective. I think a warcraft game could be really well made and have a deep and intricate story and has some interesting main characters. However if written and directed wrong it could be another video game to movie conversion in which big explosions and more violence are the answer.

I love Bruce Campbell and I love the Evil Dead trilogy. But seriously how is a never-ending repetitive MMO (even if its one of the better ones) going to translate well into a two hour film. After 100 years of film making, books rarely translate well into film, let alone an online interactive experience where the game isn't (really) about the plot, or the history, but about the people playing it and the complex social blah that is created between them?
