I need some help setting up the Samba config on my Ubuntu 9.04 server. I've had it working no problem using a desktop distro ages ago but using a terminal & editing the samba config file is proving to be very frustrating. I'm trying to set up a share with an XP machine & I can see the server in the in the Workgroup but I can't connect . I've followed this guide - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Samba/SambaServerGuide & I'm probably missing something obvious. If anyone can offer advice it would be greatly appreciated. cheers in advance
it might be helpful if you could post up your samba.conf file. can you ping both ways? are in same subnet etc?
