Right I am after one of these baby's for xmas but I have a few questions :-

    1) Will the thing be fine to hook up to a Radeon 7000 with NO DVI connector? I will be getting maybe a GF4 of some flavour with DVI soon but I really need it to use it with this.

    2) What about dead pixels? has anyone here had a TFT arrive with dead pixels? it will really suck if on xmas day I set it up to find an annoying dead pixel which would render is unuseable to me really.

    3) If it does arrive with a dead pixel or two how do i kill more and get a replacement?

Thanks :) oh and if there are any more things I should be aware of please do tell :)

    Get your order in early.

I just ordered the 172T and they said 2 weeks. I was hoping to get it within a week. Oh well

Dead pixels are a way of life with TFTs. If there's fewer than X dead pixels, they will not accept it as a return. X depends on manufacturer, panel size, etc...

For samsung I think it's 1 dead pixel in the middle of the screen or two dead pixels near the outside.

But my family has 5 samsung TFTs of different sizes and models in the house and in my parents offices and I have yet to get one with a dead pixel.

    Spike.
You ever get that 17" Samsung you ordered? What's it like, are you happy with it?
One of my suppliers just told me he'll buy me a 181T as an Xmas pressie 'cos I just placed a big order for some networking kit with him.

Woo Hoo!! It finally arrived. I just got my Samsung 181T today. What a gorgeous piece of kit, and not one dead pixel.
I'm a very happy boy - especially as it was free!! :D
