    Hi,

Just stumbled across this today and thought I would share with the community.

    http://www.bada.com/category/blog/
"Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., a leading mobile phone provider, today announced the launch of its own open mobile platform, Samsung bada [bada] in December. This new addition to Samsung’s mobile ecosystem enables developers to create applications for millions of new Samsung mobile phones, and consumers to enjoy a fun and diverse mobile experience...."

So looks like Samsung are making a move away from Windows mobile, Symbian and Android.
This changes a lot for me in the view of what phone to choose as I'm sure there will be loads of community support but obviously Samsung will be putting most if not oll efforts into Bada support. Unless obviously Bada turns out to be the next mobile OS, but I don't see Android giving up, in fact it's now going to get interesting as Android should be rolling out their 2.0 platform soon.

There's little out at the moment about it but keep your eyes pealed.

I've been watching this too. Why we need 3 different open source Linux cell phones is beyond my capacity to understand. The Android SDK is pretty comprehensive. I'll watch to see what Samsung wants/needs that Android can't encompass.

Pointless IMO. As far as I can see the iPhone OS and Android will be the big players.

    I did.

Just wait, they WILL make a phone called boom. And will be released as a special edition when they release Fifth element 2. (Since they don't make new movies any more, just sequels, this is inevitable.)

Erm, actually there is also Maemo from Nokia. Personally having been a fan of Symbian I find the ethos of the Maemo platform to be better than Android. That being said I am in no way saying one is better than the other, that is up to everyone to decide for themselves.

    Have a look here: http://maemo.nokia.com/

    Win Mob 6.5

Samsung will not neglect OS like Android and winmo 6.5. Microsoft has alreaady a great hold on the smartphone market and so has the newly launched google OS. Speculations of the launch of winmo 7 will also distract Smasung for quite a while
