    Hey,

I've been in the market for a netbook for a while now. I had made a decision to wait for nvidia ion based netbooks to make an appearance with windows 7, but as yet no show.

I got this emailed to me link and it seems a neat price. Was wondering what you guys think?

I really just need it for the web and office for Uni. Should I just keep waiting or snap this one up? Any other suggestions welcome.

    Cheers

Looks like a great deal, although (possibly) a risky choice choice as I've heard comments from a lot of people that are dissatisfied with everyday computing performance on a typical netbook. Might be worth waiting a while to try and get a few quid more together to get one with Ion.

Samsung make some really really nice netbooks, the n270 is fast enough for what you need, web and office.

I have an aspire one that i used to tote to uni and plug into the uni keyboard mice and monitor and it was plenty fast enough for me to do my dissertation on :)

I was thinking of a netbook as well... I was worried the N270 just wouldn't be fast enough and managed to upsell myself to a Inspiron 13z for £500 :p

    Perhaps consider these:
HP 311: Ion graphics greatly improves media capability and provides limited gaming. 11" screen (£300)
Asus 1201N: Uses Atom 330 (dual core) so will be faster, Ion again and comes with Win7. 12" screen. Perhaps Overclockable? But only due out on the 15th Jan (£400)

It has very similar specs to the NC10 which I have and it is more than powerful enough for most things.

You have to be realistic though, you can't expect a gaming/folding/encoding rig for £200.

Also, the NC10 can even play GTA 3. At a very low resolution, yes, but it can still play it with little to no stutter.
