Actually this is kind of a rant. Samsung why is your predictive text so cr*p? I have a Samsung Galaxy SII on which I have predictive text set up because it can be very useful but at least twice a week in my rush to send a text, chat message or email I don't check the contents before hitting send (I know, bad Carrie ) so out goes gobbledy gook resulting in varying degrees of laughter or confusion the other end. My most recent cock-up, on replying to an enquiry as to whether i'd slept well, was "yes but I woke up with 5 goat bites on my a**e!" No I don't own a goat My first and LAST Samsung!
Lol yea the Samsung predictive text is the worst there is, I sent a mate a text asking them something and the reply I got back was "Try two pigs" lol
This. Downloaded the trial the other day, and I prefer it even to Swype, which I liked a lot. Much better than other predictive text input.
Have you tried any custom roms ? I use the omega ROM on my s3 and my predictive text works just as well as any other smartphone I've used. I usually use Swype for typing though. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
I went from a HTC Desire HD to an SII. The first thing I did after trying the samsung keyboard was to use Swype (should be built into SII unlike most other phones) Have you tried Swype recently since they've added Nuance?
Where's the fun in that lol The HTC one x I have is pretty good but I always get a good laugh out of the Samsug one my friend has Posted on my keyboard using toe nails
I'm just a real man! Turning off the predictive text is the first thing I do on other phones. It's just so much more of a hassle. Although when I do get my hands on a 'Droid phone, I will defintively grab swift key and try it. Swypes a hit/miss for me.
Lumia 710 is very good, very unobtrusive. General speaking it corrects only if a very close mistake is made I.e. If I spell thyn it will change to then. Other than that, mistakes will be underlined and examples will be shown between keyboard and text box. @Carrie. I think it will be here for a while Unless the mood changes lol
My HTC has never put me in a stupid situation with autotext. However, I suggest you all look through www.damnyouautocorrect.com - Don't drink while reading it though, you WILL spray your screen. You have been warned.
The S2 is the worst phone I have ever had, build quality is gash, had loads of reception problems. Had to turn the predictive text off as its was completely useless on the stock Rom. The final nail was the Mic seemingly turning off mid call. I once sent a text asking my boss for a suck.. instead of annual leave....... No idea how Got rid now, got £200 on envirophone. Bought a HTC sensation xe for £250 and in a much happier place.
I predict an upsurge in text messages(either that or a riot)lol have to say the one x predictive text is great not sent me astray yet in regards to pookeys post about being in stupid situations I open my mouth thats enough to put me into a stupid situation
Swype is standard on the s2 I have one it has been an option from the day i owned it. I hate the stock keyboard though. I also rooted and rom flashed as i wasn't that impressed with what Samsung offered. Oh and touchwiz was killing my enjoyment of android. I use SwiftKey X. Got it in one of the regular sales. Best 79p I've ever spent.
I miss the swype text so much. That is the sole reason I am trying to go back to Samsung. Best texting services there is in my opinion.
You can install it anyway, it's just not on Google Play. Link Just sign up to the beta and download the APK. Then install said APK. Done.
I use a Desire HD and the screen is cracked so the middle row of keys (asdf) doesn't work. Predictive means that I can press the key above it and I can still get the text I want out of it. Give predictive some credit! I tried Swype (pre-crack) and couldn't get on with it at all. After a week of using it I went back to the stock keyboard.
