Counter-suit comes with irony attached. http://www.bit-tech.net/news/hardware/2014/11/12/samsung-sues-nvidia/1
If I want to see benchmarks, to help inform a buying decision, I look at independent test results, such as those obtained by Bit-Tech, rather than go to the manufacturer for information.
Yeah problem is it seems to be Nvidia initiating some of the suits. I wished they would all stop this BS of suing over minor patent infringements. The industry needs some kind of international arbitration service they way its going as these law suit do nothing but damage company reputations. I know I wouldn't buy anything from Apple after seeing what they have been upto in recent years they even tried to patent shapes for gods sake, they are just greedy corporate fools that sue people at the drop of a hat, so they won't ever get my business even if their stuff is great quality. Nvidia and Samsung on the other hand I have a phone and GFX card from them, great quality and I've bought Nvidia cards for the last 10 years. Samsung on the other hand I've got a Galaxy S1 and it still going 4 years later. I just wished they would all learn to play nice and stop suing each other, afterall it's the lawyers that profit and we the consumers that ultimately pay the price.
Most people probably don't know much about what company is suing another. Suing other companies is a profitable business, one case that spring to mind is how much Microsoft earn from each Android device sold.
copyright is the devils work if it wasn't for copyright we might have had humans on mars instead of remote control cars
It seems poor old Velocity Micro have been called in this lawsuit because Samsung want's to game the system. A message from our CEO – Velocity Micro responds to Samsung’s lawsuit http://www.velocitymicro.com/blog/message-ceo-velocity-micro-responds-samsungs-lawsuit/ AFAIK Velocity Micro are nothing more than a computer system manufacturer, it all stinks IMHO.
I suppose, depending on which chips Nvidia are claiming Samsung uses that infringe upon it's patents, the same could be said of Nvidia suing Samsung. Basically, if they're targeting only the Qualcomm chips in Samsung phones and not the Exynos chips, then Samsung are only using them in phones that they sell, similar to VM using Nvidia GPUs in PCs they sell. I remember reading this somewhere, and that Samsung was arguing this point too.
It looks like Samsung have lost it's marbles. Samsung asks the US government to block NVIDIA's chips http://www.engadget.com/2014/11/22/samsung-itc-complaint-against-nvidia/
