I wonder what UK prices might be like - if it's <£600 it can beat the current Dell 24" and that would make it a very attractive (and popular) prospect

I like the sound of this, but what connections does it support?

A high contrast ratio does not guarantee anything, I've seen plenty of claimed high contrast ratio panels look mighty unimpressive.

I'm guessing 6ms which seems to be the current trend, again though a claimed 6ms can sometimes turn out completely different...

Need a trusted review (not from bit-tech :D ) before we know.

Seems like a step in the right direction, seems that recently everyone has just focused on response time.

That's the general trend for technology, use the latest 'buzzword' when marketing your product.

Digital cameras are the biggest culprit, it was all about the megapixel count, now it's optical zoom and soon it will be the size of the ccd...

Yeah, that's what I want to know too.

I'm currently in the market for a 24" LCD and I have been waiting just to see what kinds of things become available during the first few months of 2007 and I think this monitor just jumped into my top 5 list :D

Well I was going to be getting a 24" in a couple of months. So depending on price compared to the Dell, response time and inputs, this just may have a place in my room.

I really hope the 3000:1 is the true contrast ratio and not the "dynamic" contrast ratio that some LCD TV's use. The idea of a dimm-able backlight is good (it'll save power, etc. and it'd be great if this thing had it and could achieve 10,000:1 or something), but I want high performing pixels that give a true 3000:1 ratio first...

I could also really go for some Brightside Tech. about now....

I would like to know if it has extra inputs, as it would make a nice TV aswell.

Should have the same inputs as the 244T, DVI, D-Sub, Composite, S-Video, and Component.

Are you guys 100% certain on the specs? Looking round on the internet finds the 245T with a 1000:1 response rate. Do you have an official press release yet or is this coming from engadget? As they don't cite a source or proof.

That's usually due to TV's and sometimes monitors that "dynamically" adjust brightness for the current scene. The problem is it may cover a 3000:1 ratio in the end, it usually won't display that in a single refresh. Whether this has anything like that, we'll have to see.

I was going to get the Dell 2407WFP... BUT, now that I've seen this it can only mean a change of plan for me, I suppose :).
Now if only it has a HDMI connector, though a 6-port Component connector is good enough for me.

For me I will be getting the Benq FP241W 24" as it is the same price as the 244T (Which should be the price point for the 245T) But it has HDMI.

    Want Want Want.

    $999 = £516 + UK tax = £700 = good price for a 27" monitor with these specs!
