hey everyone, sorry for the lack of updates, i've had a huge amount of un-mod related stuff to do, final projects for architecture, finals week, moving out of the dorms, and such. I also lost my camera for now :wallbash:

but i have been doing work, to update everyone on everything without pics for now, i've completed the doors, and the backpanel, and everything is on its way to being painted, i'll have a bunch of pics of this stuff as soon as i find everything, i'm actually home now too, so the scenery will be a tad different. thanks for waiting

very nice, clean and i believe a completely original idea to base it on a japanese. Already looks very like the stero trypical sort of bulings with the jutting out wood on each corner, i love it.

    Definately registering with this thread.
You could even go into business with a case design like that, nice stain wood finish and i'd have it in my living room.

hey everyone, finally its time for a real update, so here goes...

i've pretty much just been painting lately, here are the fans casings primed and in the process of paint, along with the fan grills from the psu which i will replace anyway and there is also the psu, which was a pain to take apart and i really hope will actually go back together.

I also finished the doors, i routed the tracks on the frame and the grooves on the doors themselves so they fit and slide perfectly.

the other side (where the mobo will be) originally had sliding doors also, but to use the lit acylic panel idea, they would have to be inoperable, so i just got rid of one of the vertical peices and combined them so they're on the same plane, its still easy enough to take the doors off though so i can still access all the inards from that side
    [IMG]

and last but definately not least, on the last day of school, i used the mill to do the back panel. it still needs more holes but its getting there

that's all for now, more coming soon probably

Niice. The cut on the topleft back panel looks rather crooked, though? o_O.

I like where you are heading with you case design. Working in an architectural firm it really brings out a lot of creativity seeing this. Keep up with the excellent wood working skills. :D

That's the protective paper messing with your brain. It looks perfectly straight in the later picture.
Plus it's quite difficult to mill something crooked.

Wow! Those doors look like they were a pain to do. I'm sure it was worth the hard work though 'cause they look really good.

    So it is, my mistake.
I realise that, so assumed that he had done it purposely (hence the o_O)

yup, that's basically it, with sanding in between and at the end i went up to 2000 grit and then used rubbing compound to give it the mirror finish
