Just recently bought one of these to add to my launch bought 5850 and I can say crossfire is a bit tricky to set up (driver issues, just had to completely remove everything and install fresh set and it was fine) and I can say the scaling is pretty damn good, so if you already own a 5850 then pick one up. But if you're starting from scratch, buy the best single GPU you can afford right now and then add another one down the line. I've done it twice now, first with 4870's, it worked a charm both times :) (all assuming you have a CF compatible mobo)

This card is a gem if you can still find them around, dried up pretty quickly in Canada but I managed to snag one for $135.

I recommended the card to a friend who bought it for £100 and now it's £120. He's really happy.
