i don't know if my old tagan bz900w is enough to power my new sapphire toxic r9 280x. it says it'll need 2 x 150A rails. the psu has 2 x 8 pin pcie connectors but i don't know if they'll handle those amps...

    can someone help me out!

Nothing needs 2x 150A rails I think you've read that wrong lol.

You will be fine on that PSU.

That card in an i5 system (none OC) requires less than 500W in total.

It's overkill even for two 280Xs. The TDP of that card is only 250W, and it will never consume that much in typical applications.
2 x 150A is probably a typo. ( @12v that would be 3600W, which is more than a big space heater)

cheers guys, i must have read the "150A" wrong. it's probably 2 x 150W 8 pin pcie. the card is 300w max, i got my amps and watts incorrect!
was panicking thinking i'd have to fork out for a new psu then!
