    Hi,

Can any SATA cable be used for connecting a SATA III (6gbs) HDD to a motherboard or is there a specific cable type required with wiring specific for the 6gbs transfer rate?

I realise I need to connect it to the SATA III (6gbs) header on the motherboard but am not sure if I need a special cable?

    Standard cables are fine.
