    Hi all,

I'm wanting to go through a load of old IDE drives before I bin them and need a way to hook them up to via SATA. Anybody know the best way to do this? Cheap is good as it's a one-time thing.

    Thanks.

Scan have a couple of IDE to SATA adapters available. I've been looking myself recently too and you are looking at £6-10 for them.

How strange!! I've looked through the Asus S1366 product range and only 1 board has an IDE socket out of the whole lot.

I think your statement that 'most motherboards today have an IDE connection' is still misleading though. From looking around at different manufacturers, it seems that very few S1366 boards had them, and lets be honest - 1366 is technically old(ish) and stock levels are getting reduced.

Also, I couldn't find a single 1156/55 board with one - although there may well be some out there, most boards today DONT have an IDE connection.

Thanks all. I was being lazy TBH as a quick browse showed up 1 way, the other way, and two way adapters so I figured it may be easier to ask. I'll have a look at Scan and possibly buy a new case to qualify for free delivery... At least that's how I'll justify it ;)
