Private Jessica Lynch became an icon of the war, and the story of her capture by the Iraqis and her rescue by US special forces became one of the great patriotic moments of the conflict. But her story is one of the most stunning pieces of news management ever conceived. Linketh Alltogether now... one, two three....HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA *n
did no-one else find it suspicous that the army allowed reporters on-scene? It was obviously a PR stunt. Anyone to have believed anything comming from 'embeded' reporters must be quite gullable.
I'll go ahead and speak for us 'yanks' Go ahead and let the trans-atlantic argy-bargy begin. It sickens me the US gov't would pull crap like this. Does every war /need/ a frickin hero?? Just fight the fight, and be done with it. -Jason

I agree. The entire thing was blown out of proportion from the beginning. I said it before, but they should have written her up for her medal and thrown her back into the fight with the remains of her unit.

As I recall, when she was in Germany, Doctors had retracted their announcement that she was shot. They said they found no bullets, but did find "damage" that was consistant with close range blunt injury. I forget the exact wording, but I think it could be interpreted as a bullett wound. And naturally, everyone knows there is no such thing as a trap. The information the SF had COULD have been inaccurate or misinformation. There is no way to know before hand. Presumeably outside the hospital. So, he was apparently at close range when he was "shot" with a blank. Otherwise, he's not really in a position to validate if they were blanks or live ammo. I don't buy into everything the government tells me, but neither do I buy into everything the biased media, with their own agendas, reports either.
