Does anyone know if scan.co.uk pay the postage for returns?
I'm thinking of ordering 3 CPU fans to try out and keep one of them (currently having a problem with my Scythe Mugen that won't fit into my Antec P193 case because the side panel fan protrudes by 5mm and interferes with the 10mm long heatsink pipe-heads so I can't close the case).

One of the three fans I'm ordering is the Cogage MST-140 low profile fan
Does anyone know much about this fan? The Cogage website has a couple of reviews but one is in German and the other is in Thai(?)

Scan don't pay for returns postage afaik, I doubt any website will, especially if the parts aren't faulty. You will be able to return them for a full refund under the distance selling rules but you will need to pay the postage to do it.

You would have to pay the return postage or they would have it picked up and charge £15

Maybe a Titan Fenrir would fit, but a Corsair H50 definitely should. Price is something else however...

    Thanks

I did think of the H50 but then read this: The problem is that the Cosmos 1000 lacks any intake fans, it only has teo 120mm exhaust fans in the roof and a 120mm exhaust fan in the above the I/O shield. As a result, even when we set the Corsair H50 to draw air in from outside the case the system ran very hot.

It's a worrying trend that pairing a case without positive pressure or a ready route for air to escape through a mesh means performance suffers massively. After the CPU had been under load for an hour the motherboard around the CPU socket was to hot it wasn't comfortable to touch, while the CPU block was also very hot. Worse still, the air temperature inside the case was in excess of 45C. Relatively this makes it worse than the stock AMD cooler - i.e. clearly very, very poor.

Clearly with a normal heatsink the two roof fans draw off the heat right out the case, leading to better performance, but with the radiator on the H50 limiting airflow, it really makes the whole setup struggle. Evidently the H50 isn't suitable for use in every case.

That sounds like my P193, although there is a 200mm intake fan on the side panel that would provide airflow so air would be sucked in from that and from the rear I/O panel exhaust fan (reconfigured to suck in air to cool the H50's radiator) and expelled via the 2x 140mm roof exhaust fans so I guess the P193 and H50 should work together (I think I'll create a separate post to ask about this)

On your case, how deep does the side panel fan protrude inside? The P193's is around 12mm.

have H50 setup in my p182. no problem at all, don't really need to trust Corsair and make it as an intake, expel also works wonders when your case has balanced airflow.

Good point - your P182 is similar enough to my P193 and you've OC'ed at 4 gig
    Thanks
