I will make my appologies now to other users if they are offened by my post.

I ordered some new bits for my puter in march from Scan in Bolton, they told me it was all in stock and would be with me the next day. I ordered a new Motherboard, CPU, Ram and Heatsink. Any way the next day turns up and I am waitting at the door with sweaty palms for my new toys, and i waitted and waitted, but no new toys. So I phoned them up and they told me the motherboard was out of stock and i would get it the next day. Guess what same thing no new toys, so on the phone again. This time they tell me it would be a few more days for my parts. So with that I said fine I will cancell the order and go else where.

Scan said they would credit my Credit Card but it would take upto 5 Days to go through. Anyway to cut to the Chase I got my Bill through and low and Behold no Credit. So another call and they made the credit then and there with me on the phone. Well my next question was "How are you going to compensate me for the intrest that I have occured for this month?", yes it is our mistake they said and i was put throught to customer services. Yes i will sort that out for you but i need my manager to authorise it. Fine I said, I will get them to call you Scan said. Well hours past and no phone call and as of yet no reply from them at all.

Well i will never buy from them again and i would like to know if i am the only one to have problems.

Now i feel better for that but still i am going to get my compensation.

Scan have the worst contact centre and customer services from a supplier I've ever dealt with, reading what's happened to you comes as no suprise. On the phone I've found them flippant, rude and unhelpful and emailing them is a waste of time, you may as well just send it straight to the Deleted Items folder.

It just goes to show that cheap doesn't equal cheerful, more like 'and nasty'.

I have dealt with them in the past, although things were sorted it was hard going to get it done. I have an 8 port switch from them and 1 port is feck, but I won't send it back as it will take ages to get sorted. I used to buy quite alot from them, but not anymore.
If you persist then things will be sorted eventually, but it seems more and more companies are becoming like this. The best way to deal with this is not to buy from them again and tell everyone that you know not to buy with them as I do with a certain computer supplier from Walthamstow.

Being in the States, I have never delt with Scan but that is one thing I can't tolerate. I have worked for a technology distributor for over 5 years and if we treated our customers that way we would be swinging from a tree. I don't understand how companies can do that. They don't see the internet as a means of expanding service they see it as a protective shield between them and their customers... :grr:

Yeah, their customer services are what you'd expect from box-pushers.

I once bought a Pioneer slot-load DVD drive off them that was faulty, and yes it took me a week to get in touch with the right person in customer services. However, once I'd spoken to the right person, they couriered me a replacement the next day, to be exchanged for the faulty unit on my doorstep. So they aren't *all* bad.

And, in their defense, they are damned cheap. I continue to buy off them.

Scan rock, just pray you never need their customer services.

At least I've never had to take them to court, unlike certain Northampton companies with the words 'Edge' and 'Cutting' in their names.

    Scam!!!

Well Vittorio, What a misfortunate incident that happened to you. I've been scammed before online, I think in this case sometimes the best thing to do in a situation like this is turn you back and bend over to show you side crack smilie. LOL!!!
