This is my second corsair headset, it was replaced under warranty but has the same issue as the last one, the mic goes all static, seems to be the wire that meets the left ear cup. Where do i stand ? I have already had a replacement and within a month its broken, i don't misuse my gear i look after everything, i don't really want another corsair for it to just break again..costs me £10 to get to scan and back and the headset is only worth £30 ish, its the HS1A.
As far as i've heard, you're not the only one. The corsair headsets have a massive problem with the mic, as well as internal wiring coming loose. Use your sales of goods act, the fact your item is still under warranty, you're probably entitled to a refund.
Tbh that was the reply i was hoping for, one fails...replaced under warranty, two fails..gets a bit silly. It helps knowing im not the only one complaining about the quality..i thought it was great as it gets great reviews everywhere...having owned two i would happily say i wouldnt buy another...which is a shame as im a corsair fan boy ! .
I just sent my HS1A back last Monday - replacement arrived Friday. Mine had different problems to yours, depending on the angle that the wire meets the actual ear cup i would either lose all sound, partial loss in both ears or full loss in either left or right ear. This is my first replacement though so i'm not sure about your position, i'd suggest contacting Scan and see what they say. Edit: I take too long to type
@Nutyy and Modd1uk: e-mail them and ask for a refund on your postage (include a scan of the postage receipt). The times I have returned things for a replacement when damaged I have done this and got a refund for it .. the companies involved (2 different ones) never offered this until I asked
I got one a week ago and I got some static but solved it by not using my front panel connectors. Not ideal but I didn't really want to send it back.
Thank god you told me that ! I was contemplating getting a razer....... What is there thats any good then, my steelseries broke after a year, sound stopped in one cup, second set of corsairs atm, need summit that isnt made of chocolate.
If you have any trouble, talk to Corsair direct. I hear excellent things about their customer support. Maybe if you ask nicely they might upgrade you to the Vengeance 1300... it is your second failure after all. Haven't heard of any issues with build quality with that, and mine is fine. That said, I haven't been looking for problems online for a while.
Mmmmm... The reason why i'm banned from Scan was that i demanded a postage refund for a faulty mobo... ...they simply told me to send it back &, with it costing over £200 in mid 2008, naturally sent it fully insured as i couldn't stand the risk of it going missing en route. (they tested it as being faulty & sent out a replacement) Basically, they weren't happy that the Post Office charges what it charges - a response i had from them had suggested that i should have used some obscure website to find the cheapest possible courier. Maybe they've improved but, being banned for almost 4 years now, i wouldn't know.
Ripmax is correct. Distance selling regulations state that if goods are faulty or do not comply with the contract then the seller is liable to pay the return postage charges. Don't let them tell you otherwise. Nothing overrides this statutory right. - 3.57 Also substitute goods are covered by the same 'contract' as the original goods.
I only live 30mins away so i always go in and buy cash...too many issues in the past when paying by card. Il take a trip up and see what they say..chances are i will just get offered another HS1A replacement...which will just break again i imagine :/
